I think one big thing that so many people do not understand about being disabled (at least in the US) is that not only are our benefits paltry and barely covering the barest minimums, but also, we face scrutiny over any other money we might bring in, possibly losing those benefits.

"learned helplessness" my ass.
I'm Disabled and in government-mandated poverty in a state where the Christofash have dug in hard and I can't realistically leave. No one in my family has money.
I didn't learn this shit. It's my reality.

And don’t even get me started on the sub-minimum wages that they are allowed to pay us if we were to even be able to find work (which is a fucking joke in itself)
It’s not a fucking picnic
Easy for people not to know, since we've been so easily erased from society, media, life. Which leads people to believe some wild theories and myths about the disabled.
The struggle continues, I guess. We do our best to survive 😔
But it still breaks my heart to see how much we're suffering. The mutual aid lists, the depression/despair, people just giving up.
Always wish I could do more, but there isn't really anything I can do. Maybe provide a little moral support, let them know they aren't alone, but ... 😔😭💔
DISABLED PEOPLE GIVE OF WHAT LITTLE THEY HAVE TO OTHER DISABLED PEOPLE BECAUSE WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME SHITTY BOAT.
