not at all! you're welcome! truly a wonderful piece of writing, and i think the best i've read on the film so far. the first one i've seen to really dig into Ross as a radical artist with an agenda making art for mainstream consumption.
It all emerged from the experience of watching and rewatching and living with the film in my mind, right now. I find what Ross is doing with perception and recognition to be genuinely radical, and not only in a formal sense. He expresses through film language deep human truths, and that moves me.
i need to give it another watch for sure. i have this feeling that now that i’ve seen it once on the big screen (on 35mm), seeing it small will actually bring out more of what you’re talking about.
