I mean... Cranky is here. And as far as we know, DK is still either DK Jr or DK III. So, Pauline could easily be named after her own parent/grandparent?

I'm glad they retconned the timeline. It didn't fit into the Mario vibe Nintendo is going for. It seems like they will be replacing it with something far more fitting.

Also the old timeline has always been used by sus youtubers to prove that Mario is secretly the bad guy.
