For WIP week on #ShowMeYourKnits I’ve got 4 things on needles atm. I hesitated to share these because they’re acrylic and it seems most people here only use wool and more expensive yarns. I want to see your projects in acrylic, because I work in acrylic a lot. Only reason I'm using the fancy yarn right now is it was a gift. I use wool when I'm knitting lace scarves and doilies because it blocks, but I'm staying with the less expensive lines.

I use acrylic when the project lends itself to acrylic, knitting charity hats, or if I’m knitting for my bestie who’s allergic to all animal fibers. Today’s acrylics are so much nicer than the ones available when I was a kid! 🧶❤️

I have no family who want my knitting so all mine is for charity and acrylic is so much easier for people to wash. I did try wool recently but found it hard and stiff to knit.

A lot depends on the yarn itself. Some wool is really soft and lovely to work with. But it’s mostly personal preference.

Acrylics have such a bad rap but there are so many that are lovely to work with. Don't let anyone police what you knit with or what you post.

Also, I love this color way. It makes me think of daybreak in winter on an especially cold morning.
