i think i'd quite enjoy getting into #gamewriting and #narrativedesign but i also feel like that's not really something you can get into without any other #gamedev skills or without working on somebody else's project :/

If your pool of skills is not enough by itself, try and expand your network to meet people who will compliment what you do, and vice versa.
And also remember, as lame as it sounds: NOTHING is impossible. Follow your goals!!
