Midwives?? Uk needs us too and numbers reduced immeasurably. Then media wonder why maternity services are being reviewed bc there is an increase in maternal and neonatal mortality. Always forgotten but blamed for poor outcomes. (See above!) ⬆️

That’s very stark data! Do you have data on general practice nurses too out of interest? They provide 84 million consultations a year yet it’s not enough. Preventative health is the only way we’ll help the nhs.

Yep. Have had 2 PNs retire in last 8 months. Got another 2 PNs and 3 HCAs that are all similar age and likely to retire in next 12-24 months.

We had 4 very experienced PNs leave in a short space of time. One retired due to ill health, one retired’normally’ 1 went back to secondary care as was burnt out and 1 to another surgery due to terms and conditions and being burnt out. The team now are young in the field finding our feet!

Not doubting the figures one bit, however, can I ask a question ? How many Nurses, Managers, etc have been lost to Private Healthcare, there is no doubt it is booming. Sadly free at the point of entry is no longer feasible, NHS can’t afford to pay rates Private sector can.
