This is exactly why I pretty much stopped playing 99% of multiplayer competitive games. I just got tired of trying to find workarounds that I just quit playing games that don't run under Linux. There is only 1 game I still play on windows, but it's not anticheat related.

2025 is the year that everything requires SecureBoot Microsoft Signed Hypervisors or something insane. Waiting for the day you have to have a registered licensed cryptographically signed mouse just to play TFT...

I would say so, because intrusive nonsense like this actually just gives more motivation to people to find workarounds

and at that point it's not just the ones with actual bad intentions, it's also legitimate users who just want to do simple things like... play a game on linux

I understand it now, I'm not the smartest tool in the shed when it comes to this, but I'm just more familiar with the bad intentions when it comes to kernel based code. This is especially when drama such as hacking occurs, which is why I wait because bad actors appear at exact moments of drama

Speaking of that, I never thought it would be possible for me to play Blizzard games on Linux.

But last week, I added the https://Battle.net launcher's installer as a non-Steam game… and it worked.

I'm currently playing StarCraft II on Linux.

Yeah the one time you actually want to play a game anti cheat is shoved down your throat and if you use Linux you just can’t play it, I’m happy there aren’t any games I play that use it but I would be mad or sad if there was one with it, especially as I use Linux
