I’m not sure why people hate on it so much, I love the magic system and frankly it at least beats the draw system. I think people wanted an actual sequel and got upset.

To be honest, that's why I hated it as a kid. Then I got older and gave it a fair shake. It's different but it still feels like a Chrono game at its heart.
