When you lay down a rough plot arc for a story do you always start writing from the beginning? Do different “phases” of the story come to you at different times, not necessarily chronologically? #writers #booksky

I’m a pantser, so I don’t really plot. I always write chronologically, but when I’m hit by a scene later in the story, I’ll write a rough version of it in a notebook. No matter how sure you are you’ll remember it and don’t need to write it down, you won’t.
Nope. I never write in order. It helps when I get stuck on something to go write a scene I know I will need and usually whatever it causing me to be stuck will clear up while I write something else.
Interesting, I think having a clear outline as a roadmap is always helpful but if one has an idea for a scene/sequence then write it and slot it in later.
I always start from the beginning just because I find i often change things as I go forward and the story, while it may resemble my outline has some major differences
As soon as I have a rough plot. I start thinking about things I want to happen in the story. So I write those scenes and write what leads to them after. Character 1 goes out, sees mean guy 1 and they fight. Then I write the backstory and what happens after.
