Kanye has Bipolar Disorder, which is not an excuse in itself. More specifically, I want to draw attention to a couple of things.
First is that BPD makes you prone to 'magical thinking'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_thinking

This is a problem because lack of awareness around BPD causes people to fall into rabbit holes of conspiracy theories. The condition makes people more susceptible to nonsense like flat earth and truther beliefs, and makes it harder to get out of them.
This then in turn, makes it far more likely for Bipolar people to be exposed to white supremacist and racist dogwhistles because a lot of conspiracies have an on-ramp into these beliefs.
And so there is a vulnerability there to believing these things as well, if that makes sense.
Bear with me.

The last piece is that antipsychotics have a deleterious effect on your mind if you don't take them correctly. Start-stopping, sudden dosage switching, cold turkey changes, etc. Can all cause permanent, serious damage to a person's brain. I've heard it can even put holes in your Grey matter!
Lastly, we know Kanye has been misusing his meds for years, he even has bars about it.
This actually IS most likely a result of that, and the only reason I'm saying so is not to defend him, but to take the time to talk about a mental health issue people don't often know about.

“This is an asshole holding a sink” is such a perfect distillation and is absolutely going in my mental vocabulary for dealing with anyone who’s aiming too hard at what their bullshit will seem like without thinking about what it actually is

Not acceptable. I'm not saying acceptable at all.

BD is Bipolar Disorder
I make that mistake more than I like.
Thanks!
I DID mean Bipolar, just to be clear.
My hubby and I watched this together and enjoyed the “spoons” metaphor
