I would think bad news only in the short term, before the economic effects become obvious. There appears to be a temporary pause for the auto industry, but when the tariffs take effect, the auto industry will be untenable. Other industries will be similarly crippled.

It's the bedrock base. If the number were 25 percent that would mean the base is contracting. If it were above 33 percent it would be outside the margin for error on the base.

Because the bedrock of support is ~30 percent, you need to show sequential polling on the general question "Should the US annex Canada/Should the US annex Canada by force" to support your claim that this is 'rising sentiment'.

Absent that the bedrock is just that, the expected lower bound.
