The contractors I'm familiar with -- someone can walk out of a Fed position into that same job under a Booz Allen, BAE or Lockheed contract with 2 x pay and better benefits.

Of course, you have NO stability, NO guarantee that you won't get booted tomorrow, but the money can be good.

Seem to recall contractors doing travel 25 yrs ago. Expensive for Agency. Hard to work with. Lots of errors. Every change had a charge regardless of whose error. Reason for work being brought back to FTEs.

Are we sure there will BE a middleman contract agency? Oftentimes, companies hire people as “independent contractors” instead of full employees simply so they can abuse them and withhold workers’ benefits and rights. Like what Amazon has done. They aren’t actual contractors, just being called that.
