💡In my graduate teaching role, I don’t control the required reading materials. Instead, I ensure I present and reinforce to my international students to locate and use literature relevant to their contexts (be they geographical, cultural, ethnic, or linguistic).

2. Ideas and understanding come from learning and conversations. Reading new perspectives beyond social media and blogs and listening to the experiences of others are needed.

🗣️Although my contributions assisted to get the conversation started, it was the sharing of others that was more valuable for the group. To have others reflect and share both sympathetic understanding and about solutions they were able to utilize.

I’ve only just started the book but I already recognize parallels with some people and their research. I’m looking forward to being uncomfortable with the new ideas and learning how they fit into the larger picture and beyond.
