This on a post about how bird flu can potentially transmit from your cat to yourself, just to make sure you know how unhinged it was for them to argue about longevity for outdoor cats in that post.
I'm going to just start blocking people who make having an invasive species their whole personality.

They've spent the last 5 years claiming UV lights disinfect their homes because sunlight protects you from viruses based on what they learned from Dr. John Campbell. One popular "doctor" is a surgeon and the other a barely published genomics grad...
The other pitches hygiene hypothesis
Molecular testing for disease prevention is $25 and can be done without a vet. They tell people that if you use that option then people will "go nuclear" and kill all the pets
... you have yet to meet true stupid
It is VERY RARE for outdoor cats to live to be over 11.
Most die before the age of 11 outside.
Our household had more cats live to be over 15 as indoor only cats.
Our indoor cats live the longest because nothing murders them or poisons them or accidents and so much bad shit goes on outside.
Some of my least fave types of clients when I was a vet tech x_x
Such foul people.
Like how can you trust them not to blindly follow other falsehoods?
And some cats just die young. I guess my cat who died of heart failure at 5 would have somehow lived longer outside, then?

Especially because due to having indoor only cats I could tell immediately yesterday that my old lady wasn't feeling good and had started to run a high fever when she skipped a single meal. Would have missed the symptoms on an outdoor cat who comes and goes.
...Except for this one, he can stay. He coo.
"But he loves being outside!"
"That's why I'm leash training him"
"*visible confusion*"
He loves to go outside on his leash.
We don't take him out anymore though.
He's leash trained but ever since the pandemics started we stopped taking him outside for leash walkies.
He hates it, but it is for his own good ATM.
What else could you have done? Follow them around the whole time??
