Very nice, how was it to put together? Did you have to use a special primer for the Mdf?

Bit fiddly at times, but read each section all the way through before starting it and dry fit your pieces before gluing and it goes OK.

I used Mechanicus Standard Grey primer. I undercoated with a dilute PVA/Filler mix to give the walls texture, which helped with priming as well.

MDF can, in it's bare state, be very absorptive, so a light sealing coat of Mod Podge or PVA (modpodge is better, PVA is cheap) really helps with priming and painting stages, especially when using washes..

This courtyard space at the back is great for extending the footprint and breaking up sight lines

The stairs neatly allow most minis to "slot in," via their bases, to stand stably, and the ruined wall section sells well.

Overall, lovely kit, if a little tricky to assemble, and a welcome change of pace. Onwards to more mini painting!

And a close-up of the gatehouse, why not. The extra texture from the watered down filler makes a huge difference
