As a teacher-I’m now retired from the profession and run my own business, I used to teach students how to manage their finances. Not part of the curriculum now, so many things are no longer unfortunately; it is now so narrow it seems hardly worth teaching anymore!

Hot take: there shouldn't be.
We always try to overburden students with all the "necessary knowledge". But nothing they can teach at school is "proper" anything.
Stronger institutions and trust in expertise seem a better solution.
