Thankfully it's not my call to make, but I wouldn't trust any deal with the US at the moment and I can only see it getting worse. Starmer must surely fight back, as this is the only type of response that Trump appreciates.

There may be reason to consider that the previous Tory gov't wrestled with the steel tariff previously left by Trump. Seems a little off target to create a problem that Starmer won't respond to, before we know the facts. The steel industry cite the EU deal as the source of their problem in 2022
