The IRS automated systems do not handle even the smallest irregularities well. I was sent a levy/lien notice for a tiny error on their end. Took multiple calls and hours and hours on hold before getting it fixed, though there's lingering issues.

This move at the IRS will be a catastrophe.

I e-filed my returns last week. I had a small error on one form, they flagged it, I fixed it, and the return was accepted. Took about 10 minutes. Got my refund three days later.

That's great, but that was not my experience at all. I was sent lien/levy threats before I was ever even told anything was wrong. No explanation whatsoever. If you ever have to try to get on the phone with an agent, you'll know what I'm talking about.

5. Trump and his advisors say they are getting rid of waste, fraud and abuse. But even if that were the case, savings and efficiency wouldn’t come at the expense of gutting whole agencies and departments that are *necessary for a nation to be a nation*.

What’s maddening also is that Republicans have long opposed climate change policies on the grounds that they would wreck the economy -- even if potentially necessary. Trump has no argument for how the economy is supposed to thrive when you fire 100,000 people.
