This story made me wonder about other likely cases of folks discovering how they were falsely steered by the RW media machine. Thinking of the dudes who traveled to the border and found no hordes of migrants. It seems rare to see this kind of coverage.

Several years ago a woman who got worked up about 'evil Muslims' from online crap drove out to join in picketing a Mosque. She was the only one who showed up! But she stuck it out, held her sign or whatever.

Folks in the Mosque could tell she wasn't truly a hater, & they ended up chatting amiably.

It’s very rare that someone admits that they’ve been fooled. We humans tend to do a lot of mental gymnastics to avoid that!
