I use #horrorsky, #HorrorBooks and #HorrorAuthor a lot when talking horror. Otherwise I go with writing community

No worries! A lot of the feeds very bogged down in spammy promotions in the end. Those seem to be fine for general chit chat at the moment

#WIPSnips is a popular one if you want to give snips of you WIPs 😜 and connect with other writers.

A lot of writers also use #booksky (tagged with 💙📚) and #ReadingCommunity. Book sky is one of the more active feeds I’ve found.

For some reason #writingcommunity gets bugged a lot and takes a while to update, sometimes over 20 minutes or more, and sometimes back dates from several hours ago. I usually go with #writing - it's shorter, and that eventually absorbs into the WC feed as well. I also follow genre-specific feeds.
