Will Smith is ~.5 points per game and was the allegedly more talented BC draft pick in 2023; Eller is barely hanging on. Both seem like optimistic bets but additional eggs were very expensive so fuck it we ball.

I don't think there was a single guy that was traded today - Rantanen included - that would have massively changed the Caps' playoff fortunes. This team will go as far as this team - the guys that have been here - take them. That said, it puts a lot of eggs in the Ryan Leonard (and Eller) baskets.
