It’s interesting booster gets the strongest reputation for being “fake” when I think that’s only because he’s so willing to take off the mask and show the contrast between it and his real self. Bea & Ted are much more devoted to the persona.

I also think this is kind of the appeal of Ice to all of the JLI but most intensely to Fire. She’s definitely capable of being fake nice etc, but she’s much more often open about who she is and how she feels instead of playing to expectations. And who she is is just kind of a weird little guy.
Guy is also obviously performative, but for him it’s about wanting to seem tougher and bigger and meaner than he is while with Bea & Ted it’s often about lowering expectations. funhouse mirrors of each other once again
