Hydro is actually very problematic. We're getting rid of our dams as we can here because it completely destroyed our previously very rich fisheries. If you have migratory fish, don't block them from breeding or you'll have a bad time

oh yeah, I did hear about that. but that can be helped with specific channels or spillway made for them. I saw a video on a few over in North Carolina, if I remember correctly
We've had those at least since I was a little kid in the 90s and they proved in court that they didn't work sufficiently to keep salmon populations going. Fish ladders and passages just don't replace a natural river according to fish behavior across decades
We can keep some, but really have to balance it. We have 1200 and we're half the size of Sweden. Sweden has 10,000. A small percentage may be necessary for irrigation but most aren't. I'm good on nuclear if it's well regulated and managed safely with the community in mind. Japan not USSR style
Oh yeah the russian RBMK ones had a fatal design due to economic restrictions and cost cutting. Not to mention the fear of disobeying your superiors, which was the final nail in the coffin.
