Today I heard this very creepy and weird story, and I feel for sharing it with you all. It begins in the next post, and the event happened during the beginning of the eighties. 1/11 #highstrangeness

It's interesting that they felt something, and there was second-hand evidence of them (such as the footprints). But they are never directly seen or heard.
Most earthbound spirits in stories are often keen for a drink. So all the little elements add up nicely.
Oooh interesting...especially through the bias of my own current theory 😅 They are out there to go fishing and you mention the Sami slaughterhouse (they kill mainly mooses, right?) and then they encounter an unusual moose and then it's like a portal opens to a negative experience
And it seems that many of negative experiences( anything high strangeness) targets people with harmful plans towards nature, either hunters, fishermen, lumberjacks...or just not very nice people. It would be so interesting if we knew more about the character of witnesses.
Gunnar and his friend Thord Stattin, from Valsjöbyn in western Jämtland, had been fishing together since the mid-60s. They explored the area north of the village, hiking up towards Vinklumpen, Sandknölarna, and Länsmansfjället. Each summer, they trekked around a series of small mountain lakes. 2/11
One time, they drove to the Sami slaughterhouse at the foot of Vinklumpen, where the road ended and their hike began. After a few hours, as they approached a bog, Gunnar felt uneasy. Suddenly, a massive moose thundered across the marsh. 3/11
They stopped to rest, and Gunnar told Thord about the strange chill running down his back, as if someone was watching him. Thord admitted he felt it too. The mood shifted. A creeping sense of being observed, even followed, settled over them. 4/11
The next morning, Gunnar woke to find Thord crouched by the shore, making coffee. Thord pointed to tiny human footprints in the mud—so fresh that the trampled grass was still rising. A deep unease gripped them both. 5/11
As they continued their hike, they couldn’t shake the feeling that someone—or something—was always just ahead of them. An unseen presence. The strangest part? It felt like a child. Impossible, given the harsh terrain. 6/11
On the fourth day, they reached a river. The water was low, the fishing poor. But on the muddy bank, the tiny foot prints continued. Finally, they arrived at a lake they called "The Banana," where the mountain fish were plentiful. 7/11

(They're not tinkerbell - properly they're Phynnodderee or Mooinjey Veggey. Little people.)
