Honestly? Encouraged by Starmer's pushback yesterday. Then Lammy's bloviating vapidity this morning sank me all over again. Prophecy doesn't enter into it. Simply the ability to link cause to effect, rooted in observation of the world around us. Centrist appeasement will not work. It never does.

This is the view i'm coming round to. I've been at best, lukewarm on starmer and at worse pretty dissapointed.
However it feels like we're entering a period in politics where Starmer, and Labour, represent an awful lot more than the sum of their parts in the face of some very ugly political forces.

Absolutely. We can still encourage labour to do what we believe is best but keep it reasonable and respectful rather than unnecessarily harsh. Unless they cross the line for example and start being racist or pro corruption.

I think that is the correct decision. There are enough attacks on Starmer from the right wing media, politicians and overseas oligarchs. This government may not tick all the boxes but, as you say, the alternative is a horrendous prospect. The hard left may want to think about things too.

Excellent but, this isn’t new. It started in earnest with Johnson who ditched any form of morality in pursuit of his own agenda. Bad Enoch is certainly doing her smug best to emulate him. Another appalling performance at PMQs, a weekly event that has been thoroughly debased in the past ten years
