Reminder that the USA is co-hosting the World Cup next year with two countries it has been actively hostile towards, which will involve hundreds of thousands of visitors coming into the country and crossing the borders with Canada and Mexico during the event.

International travelers concerned about President Donald Trump’s trade policies and bellicose rhetoric have been canceling trips to the United States, depriving the U.S. tourism industry of billions of dollars at a time when the economy has started to appear wobbly.

The way things are going, it's possible Canada and/or Mexico will pull out as hosts, and a significant number of countries might boycott.
And pulling out is perfectly *possible* if they're willing to alienate FIFA.
But again, this has only been going on for 8 weeks, who knows what it'll be like in 15 months.
