My Mom wants to know why I won't donate old clothes to the Salvation Army this would be why. This and they pay thier disabled workers a sub-minimum wage.
I really should say I SHOULD be ashamed I was a bell-ringer one year before I started at Goodwill but that was just work experience for my first job and I was roughly 10 years younger but thats all a separate matter when starting out in the work world.
There have been times when, on recommendation of the state, we’ve reached out to the SA for help. Even though we matched every official criteria for aid, we’ve been refused - because we are not Christian. They do, every time,ask what church you attend.
Others who attend church, yep, they get help.
Passed by a Salvation Army bucket with the knowledge I gained years back of their anti-queer stance. Sad to see this is still the case, so good thing I didn't donate to them.
Years ago I used to drop some cash into those red buckets around Christmas time. Then I read more about the Salvation Army. They'll never get another penny from me.

Their anti- #LGBTQIA policies are just part of the reasons why #SalvationArmy won't see a penny from me.
