Last year they bowed to "boycott Spain" because you could be randomly asked at the border to prove that they have more than €150 to their name. They said "the need our money more than we need the holiday". Yet they still visited in record numbers 🤡

You could literally show it on your phone in your bank app. And the rule wasn't even new. The British press must have had a slow week.

It's the worry that gets people though. Online banking definitely isn't accepted, so apps are probably out too. And that figure is per person per day of your stay. If I've booked an all-inclusive holiday for a family of four, I might not have another £5000+ lying about in a bank account.

Oh, yes. I was wrong about the online banking and the ammount (90€ pp pd, but 810€ minimum).

I'm not saying that Spain is doing anything wrong of course. A boycott would be ridiculous! And the papers should be allaying people's worries not exploiting them
