Approximately 2% of the US population died in the American Civil War. For today’s population (just shy of 335,000,000) that figure would be 6,700,000. Far more lethal weaponry now, but also way better medical care. That’s probably a solid number.

Sorry not sorry, that statistic is now easily doubled, if not tripled since. My grandfather predicted it but he had hoped that this never would have happened before my retirement.
Please let’s not forget that one million people died from COVID on Trump’s watch. Let’s also not forget that there are people like me, that have a life altering condition as a result. Let’s also not forget that Canada has a 40% less infection rate per capita than the U.S. with an inferior vaccine!
