The Norwegian Kroner has dropped off quite a bit, not as expensive to visit as you might have thought.

You can avoid Oslo to be honest, or just allow one night, Copenhagen and Stockholm have more about them … Norway is all about the outdoors 👍🏼👍🏼

Jan-Feb for Winter … 17th May is the National day which is pretty much equal to Christmas, and everything closed. Easter everything closed too. June / early July for Summer and camping

Avoid gnat season, though. I got eaten alive many years ago.
Only place I've found worse for gnats was Alaska.

Do it, but it can be really pricy! But don't only go to Oslo, visit Bergen and Stavanger, and maybe Trondheim. Also, so much nature to see!

Also Tromsø and Lofoten are natural wonders of Norway. There's like nature everywhere, even Oslo has it in spades, like 15 min from the city center.
