I love debating Trump supporters every night because I think it’s good for us to take on hostile questions. Loaded questions get squashed with better answers. Run from nothing; instead compete and DEFEAT!

I was in a conversation here earlier this afternoon. When the person resorted to changing the subject & insults, I stuck to my point of emphasis. I was blocked after that.
It doesn't though, it just creates drama and gives their view more air time.
It's how Trump won the election. In the modern world, it doesn't matter what you say just so long as you dominate the narrative.
Ignore it and it has no power.
It’s not about them. It’s about the others that are watching that may be undecided. It helps address issues or talking points they’ve heard themselves.
Unfortunately their cognitive dissonance means that as soon as the debate ends, they simply go back to their beliefs. It's like playing chess with a pigeon; it simply knocks all the pieces over. Then shits all over the board and struts around thinking it won.
It isn’t worth my time or effort. The MAGA crowd killed my brother. I can not discuss anything with them. It is far easier to block them and walk away as I will learn nothing new from them.
At this point in time the only way for them to learn is the aphorism of FAFO. I’m not looking forward to the consequences all of us will have to face due to the GOP’s agenda.
This was my hobby with some "trumpets" on FB. They were people I thought were "casual friends" until they pulled off their masks. I developed a rep as hostile. Oh well.

The one thing they cannot tolerate is to be ignored.
If there is even a small chance you can change their mind (or keep them going until they show their true colors and get banned,) it is worth taking.
Also like the other guy said, it serves as a deterrent for readers.

I’ve gotten really tired and doubt I’ve changed anyone’s mind.
I don’t feed the trolls. Arguing in good faith with a Trump supporter is like assuming the Republicans are here to govern… or make America better.
It’s futile.
