The Engadget rehash of the press release is like a nugget of anti-knowledge. Camille François at Columbia (formerly of Graphika) is the showrunner. There's plenty to watch out for here, but imo the story is more interesting and more complicated than it looks.
Do equivalent open source tools of this nature already exist? This seems like one area where AI is actually really beneficial. Human content moderation is wildly traumatic
As far as I know, Discord is just unsafe for kids in the same way as a forum with lazy mods was for us millennials, & at least explicitly isn't for kids; whereas Roblox IS for kids, and not only directly profited from the work of child labour which they scam at multiple stages, there's gambling too.
