We are a family of 6, including 4 teens. I do my best to limit our meal planning to meals made from scratch and with similar ingredients. I price shop although we are in an extremely rural area so options are limited. Once every 2 to 3 weeks we get large bags of pet food & toiletries. 🧵

I buy generic and only splurge on Rao’s (because duh). This week was more expensive due to a) spring break, so the school isn’t feeding the kids 2/3 of their meals and b) I shopped from our pantry last week. It’s so frustrating watching prices climb when we’re already so limited. 🧵

I’m fortunate to have a space to grow our first kitchen garden. It’s a bit intimidating, especially when our growing season is so much shorter than Tennessee’s. But it’s also exciting!

one day we’ll have a garden so successful we can openly share with our neighbors. We’re all facing adversity. Some are realizing too late what they’ve done, and they will need the grace that was extended to me as I grew in my own journey. Love won, and I firmly believe will win again. 💜
