Cutting disaster assistance alone is catastrophic given the size of them we have been seeing. Making cuts to Mitigation and training stuff will be a whole nother level beyond catastrophic for the entire profession that all organized Emergency Management would likely collapse.

Licensed flood insurance adjuster here! If Trump denied FEMA assistance after a hurricane it would result in a mass exodus from hurricane-prone red states. FEMA and the NFIP are the only reasons Florida has a real estate market

I had Hurricane Ian insureds in Fort Myers who told me in 2022 that if they got wrecked again like that they were moving. That was two years before Hurricane Milton tore through Fort Myers. I had friends who had insureds with prior losses from Ian who got hit by both Helene AND Milton

Forget Hurricane season, the entire central time zone has been for the past 2 to 3 months essentially just been under a massive storm cell and it's been a chain of disaster. Nobody's talking about it but it's real bad.
