Hey furries outside of the US. I totally understand wanting to boycott American companies- but please don’t take it out on us Artists.
We didn’t ask for this and are taking the biggest hit from tariffs, increased cost of living, and the mental stress of being in the US.

I get wanting to shop local, especially as a Canadian, but taking it out on artists is... weird.
As a Canadian business owner, pardon my French, this fucking sucks for me too.
We can't leave each other behind. Boycotting each other isn't the answer.
Thanks :D
In Germany alone, soooo much stuff is from the US that people don't even know of? And a lot of the services they use are US owned? I doubt people will cancel their Netflix for example
Except if they support that orange idiot
We're already seeing a 30% conversion cost ON A GOOD DAY.
This means that your price will go from at least 130% to 150+%. Because our CAD will lose against the USD with this trade war.
I don't want to boycott USA artists - quite the opposite.
But putting food on your table will make ME starve. :\
Canadian artists will become A STEAL from the USA. Because our dollar will be weak.
Worry less about Canadians not supporting you, but US clients looking at Canada for awesome art for cheap. x_x
Please take care of yourself first 💚
One way or another, I'll be alright.
Frankly, I know we're all in this together, USian or Canadian.
Because the only ones that will benefit from all this are the rich people syphoning wealth from us with this stupid economic war.
I just hope it all goes away someday and returns back to normal, I wish us innocent folks doing our thing didn't have to be roped into this garbage
Try rephrasing next time you want to ask someone about their nationality
I am just tired of being growled at by yanks saying they're Aussie, with a 'roo fursona, yet don't know boomers don't have pouches (or what a boomer is), and say they live at Bondi but can't tell Tamarama from Turramurra. Or from Wagga for that matter. It gets old fast.
The beach near Evans Head is awesome, btw. Or was in the 90s, I will admit I have only rarely been that far north in the last quarter century...
Meta
Amazon
Google
Tesla
X /Twitter
And any major business that is housed in the US that has explicitly been helpful to the new administration.
Then spend that money in your local community and on artists instead.
I use DuckDuckGo/safari for my searches
Amazon is practically pointless to me after the Christmas season
Meta’s algorithm sucks so I don’t use IG, FB, or threads
It’s honestly not terribly hard
Gmail Suite -> Proton/Tuta (Recent republican endorsements from Proton make me lean towards Tuta)
Search -> DuckDuckGo/Startpage
Docs/Sheets/Slides -> LibreOffice
Music -> Qobuz/Tidal
Meta -> Bluesky
https://www.viasat.com/satellite-internet/
Amazon -> Try buying direct from manufacturers, or using your search engine’s Shopping tool if they have one.
Twitter -> Bluesky. If you have people who won’t/can’t leave, Nitter let’s you browse Twitter with no ads/tracking/account
Tesla -> Many other EV brands.
That doesn’t mean they can’t comment on international affairs, which they did. An endorsement for any party breaks their “politically neutral” promise.

sorry to burst your bubble but Amazon is more than a store. They run the servers for 70% of the internet via Amazon Web Services. They could drop the store business and it would be a drop in the bucket compared to what they make off AWS
it is functionally impossible to boycott them. Even physical stores will use Google or Amazon services to run their servers. They're unavoidable unless you live as a hermit.
I’m not sure you realize how this is affecting Canada. We won’t be able to afford art, from anyone.
This isn’t about that.
I’m talking about people boycotting because they’re upset about 🍊 and are taking it out on Americans as a whole, including artists.
