We should just do what Switzerland and Israel have done with their planes—replace the electronics with our own alternatives—and demand that not just 25%, but 100% of the spare parts are manufactured in Europe.

Brazil already has the means to produce its own spare parts for the Gripen—why shouldn’t we be able to do the same with F-35?
We can’t fucking trust America anymore but the F-35 is still the best plane on the market, we just have to tweak it a little and buy European next time.
That still needs US approval and sharing of tech specs. We can't reverse engineer it FFS, we are not Chinese :) We already have capable 4th gen jets and they will have to do for now. Enough to deter Russia IMO.
We’re the best when it comes to technology and have arguably the best engineers in the world—China still has to buy the ball for ballpoint pens from Europe.
If we need the technical specs we can just ask China for it, since they had a spy get those a while ago.
I was just thinking about it today. When shit really hits the fan in Us (and it will), people will want to move out en masse. We could take a lot of Americans in EU. It would solve many of our workforce problems too.

The Chinese may have looked at Lockheeds homework, but they still had to put the work, research, and money in.
Corruption can move mountains sometimes..
That person was working for DoD.
They will come by themselves, trust me.
