Yes, the story is great (both the story behind the painting and what the painting is depicting) as is the fact that there’s a Titian painting (now in the Gardner Museum) in the background. (Las Meninas seemed too obvious a choice, too.)
Picasso spent a lot of time going to the Prado, studying the painting, and then would focus on different aspects of the work in his own abstract studies. You can see them at the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
