I do think the markets will go higher because the tariffs get passed on, not absorbed, the healthy companies will gobble up the struggling ones, and Wall Street will eat it up. My friends still in the business have been saying that M&A has been picking up in anticipation of chaos.

I totally agree with you. What is behind the view that M&A will pick up is that there are pockets or concentrated wealth (SWFs, PE funds, family offices, certain companies, ppl like Bezos and Musk) that will be active opportunistic buyers. If the economy materially shrinks, then you’re def right.
