From my Dutch/Finnish/European perspective, the UK government has totally lost it on this issue. Do they not see how this looks outside the UK? It appears that for the current government, human rights are something to only selectively apply to certain people. - ThreadSky

I don't understand what they want to achieve? The whole Brexit thing...anyone who understands a tiny bit about production chains could see that Brexit and the resulting trade barriers would be bad for that...

They want to be left to make their own decisions about what happens in their country. They fail to see just how connected they need to be to Europe and the rest of the world.
