There is an irony in U.S. thinking that Europe doesn't need to be at the table because they don't contribute enough, but also thinking that the U.S. will continue to have influence without making commitments.

The West as it is now, probably can't survive. But the world order has changed before, and he is giving us little choice but to see how we can detach from America.
If a RU/US deal to split Ukraines rare minerals is made, there sure will come US boots on the ground as did when Trump ledt Syria to protect SA oilfields.
If Ukraine and Europe countries were invited, the peace talk would take years.
