This, like banning “woke” words (diversity, gender, etc.) from written materials, is Trump/Heritage’s NewSpeak. They take all the classic dystopian novels that authors wrote as cautionary tales (The Handmaid’s Tale, 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, etc.) and treat them as instruction manuals.
I don't understand the First Amendment angle. The Trump administration isn't dictating to AP how they have to report--they're just revoking their access. Doesn't the White House get to do that anyway? It's petty and gross, but it seems legally distinct from literally forcing them to say something.
His outlandish and seemingly low consequence decision reminds me of my garbage ex who would similarly do small things that on their own would seem foolish to gripe about but they were just water testing for future trampling on the foundation of our relationship. Trump is the WORST ex we've ever had
