My grandma is heartbroken over Chloe. She’s so upset. And keeps claiming she’s “too old” to adopt another cat. She is 74. I said get a cat that’s 2-4 years old. Those cats get overlooked all the time because everyone wants a kitten. 💔

I agree. This is what I had planned after I had to let Oliver go but a little stray had other ideas. I had already started looking at the shelter's listing and they had a number of sweeties over 10 that had been surrendered.
I am suggesting that! The older cats are never quick to be adopted. It’s heart breaking. I think it’d be a perfect match for her in a low energy, calm household. 🩵
And pets actually keep you younger and healthier. Knowing you're responsible for that cute little critter gives meaning to your life and a reason to get up in the morning...
...especially when they're standing on your full bladder and yelling for breakfast! 😹😻😜
That's good advice. There are great and healthy cats even at 5-7 years. And they are more calm and affectionate than younger cats. Ones waiting just for her!
Look for senior pets whose owner has passed away. They wind up in shelters or with rescues and deserve a loving home.
Consider fostering through a rescue organization. If she reaches the point where she can’t or doesn’t want to care for them, they go back to the rescue.

Jolene was age 5 when I adopted her - all her kittens were adopted first.
Foster Flower is 15.
