most of the people likely to be targeted currently were already at risk, if you weren't at risk previously it is unlikely you are now.

And working from the bottom, there's a cross entropy view here too. If every person with a few hundred of a few thousand followers starts being brave, they will not be able to separate the wheat from the chaff. Every forum should scare the hell out of them

If you want to feel safe standing up to an authoritarian regime while speaking freely, I suggest you find a different preoccupation. It's also obviously true that decisions on the margin may be life or death. We all need to calculate and great info need not be prescriptive

I think a big part is also people don’t understand that they will come for you regardless if we end up in “disappearing huge swaths of the population” territory. Like dude if we get there your biggest threat isn’t a black bag it’s civil war and it’s fallout

When you realize their end goal there would be elimination of all opposition we are talking more than half of the population at minimum. Not saying they won’t try just saying you’re preparing for the less likely outcome

Their current goal is break everything because they assume it will magically make that huge portion like them then they will go for the rest. They are going to fuck a lot of people up. They will kill a lot of people. They will not win, mostly, due to their own toxicity
