I’m personally stoked for 45” 5K2K 21:9 OLED monitors. I feel like they will offer the taller size I’ve been looking for in an UW while preserving pixel density & widespread 21:9 compatibility. Also OLED is just incredible. I feel like I’ve been waiting years for this. Total package, here we come.
I tried an ultrawide when I first built my PC and I couldn’t get used to having so much horizontal real estate when gaming. Maybe worth checking out again.
Not all ultrawides are created equally. I’ve tried 34”
21:9 that was too short, 49” 32:9 that too wide, and 38” 21:9 that was just a tad small both ways. 45” 21:9 sounds like the big screen ultrawide I’ve been looking for. Then of course you have things like display type, VRR tech, refresh rate, etc
I’ve been gaming on a 42” LG C1 OLED for a could years, and it’s generally fantastic. OLED is so good, I’ll never go back. And the size works well in 16:9 leaned back with a controller or 21:9 with KBM, but I think 45” 21:9 would be great for both. 32” would be nice but I prefer a bigger display.
For sure! I’m currently using two Alienware 1440P AW2721D with dedicated G-Sync modules. I’ve been spoiled by the 240Hz refresh rate. I’ve heard some grumblings that Nvidia is working on an updated G-Sync module for high end gaming monitors as all current models use the older FPGA module.

1. Onboard G-Sync Module
2. >240Hz Refresh Rate
3. VESA HDR1000
4. 4K at 32”, Non-Curved
5. OLED
Right now, I can get close with the last generation mini-LED IPS models but OLED’s response time is just so good.
