That stuff is the bane of my existence and it is taking over my yard. I am tempted to just rip of the grass in half my lawn to try and get rid of it. But it travels. And I've found it other places, so I think it might be a losing battle.
A neighbor has a professional service that ripped his lawn out a couple of times and replaced it. That’s too much work and expense for me, for something neither pollinators nor I can eat.
That’s what I have been doing for the past 30 years, reducing lawn and increasing gardens. But a neighbor found it it’s difficult to sell a house with no lawn, so I tolerate some.
Mine is so full of weeds I don’t want to bring seeds into the vegetables. The vegetable garden, which I pamper, is mulch with paper mulch covered with tacky straw. So nice for arthritic feet to walk on!
Attended a class a long time ago and was told the way to get rid of it was to put chickens in a moveable cage all around the yard. Never tried that, but it also attracts bees so I don't mind it.
That sounds like a lot of work, although the way supply of eggs might be nice. I pull it out of the vegetable garden and keep it manageable in the pollinator patches. But the lawn is low on my priorities.
