A portion of that is due to the insurance middlemen that end up inflating prices. Frequently cash pay direct to a provider is much lower. Difficulty factor, there are some for profit hospitals with investors that make this worse.

The only people taking advantage of it will be people already planning on having kids. It will not substantially increase the birth rate. Taxes on the 1%, improvement to parental leave, free childcare, increases in income, and M4A probably would.
