It's not weird. There's actually a lot of volcanos busy in various places throughout the world, constantly. There are a couple active ones right now, out in the Aleutian chain and one with some possible activity just south of Anchorage. I've become fascinated with Kilauea.

Yay to that. The earth is quite active. There are probably a few volcanoes popping off at the moment that the news can't be bothered to cover. No apocalypse in sight. No need to worry.

Oops, forgot to add. It's normal for about 20 volcanoes to be erupting world wide on any given day. There seems to be 47 on the go at the moment. Nobody in the vulcanology community seems worried, so I'm not. One of our 🇦🇺 two volcanoes is erupting at the moment but that's in the sub Antarctic.

At 73, I'm becoming more of watcher than a do-er. I live near Seattle and go to Alaska volcano country a lot and visit places like Costa Rica and Hawaii. When it hit me my whole life has been surrounded by them, I decided to look at them harder. I'm enjoying watching Kilauea's live stream r/n.
