The issues she talks about are real though. Few folk can afford editors and you know it’s hard to find a good one or the right one. Writers will probably rush to use it, but since AI remains a problem legally (copyright etc) it may make it harder to sell the story to trade publishers.

Well, there's the legal stuff, but also she says she 'intended' it to do basic level spelling and repetition which needs human intervention (why 'AI' is better at that than a good find-and-replace is not addressed) then pivots to it replacing editors totally without detailing what it does right now.

I mean, according to the article: this doesn't spell the end of editing as a profession because it only does 'the drudgery' and you need people to do a good job. But publishers don't want to pay for quality editors and authors can't afford them so they can use this instead.
