With a bunch of other music I’ve acquired or discovered in more recent years. Even from my favorite band (pretty sure the newest BTBAM album on here is Coma Ecliptic and that’s nearly 10 years old).

Moral of the story is don’t close yourself off to other genres. Too much great music out there.

I think maybe in middle school I had a brief “ew pop music” phase but other than that I’ve always had a pretty wide range of artists I loved. In high school I had blue hair, a slipknot tee shirt and a singing nsync watch because it was funny and because I grew to like nsync.

Also learned is the wrong choice of words. Validated. Reinforced. That would be more accurate. I always knew I loved a wide range of music. But sometimes people just say that but don’t actually mean it. I mean it.

It really bums me out how much good music there is out there that’ll never get heard. I genuinely try to listen to anything and everything, & the music I come back to is all over the map. Streaming killed discovery but there’s no good solution out there other than just searching for new stuff.

Yeah I listen to Sirius and I agree- it’s better for discovery. For really dumb reasons I never got in the habit of using their app (up until recently I worked for one of the streaming services, trying to get them to Do The Right Thing for artists and fans, but alas). Now I have no excuse.

Amen. I love a wide variety of music. I basically listen to every genre, and most eras of music (though I am weakest on current stuff, and by current, I mean the last 15 or more years..., but I love lots of stuff from before I was born, in 1974).
