My read here is that Canada sucks at optics. All Trudeau needs to do is tweet / truthsocial "CANADA SENDS 50, 000 TROOPS TO BORDER" and Trump's ego will be satisfied (ofc we don't need to do a thing..). He is. That. Stupid. Months back Mexico understood the game. Canada didn't.

Follow up: looks like this is more-or-less what 🇨🇦 finally did. The border plan is the same one offered in the Fall (still a waste of $$, but nothing changed). As Paul Krugman says, Trump is the classic bully who runs away when someone stands up to him.
